Shifting Business is a project of Shifting Schools, run by Jeff Utecht and Tricia Friedman. This page explains what information we collect through shiftingbusiness.ai and The After-Hours Kit, and what we do with it. “We” means Shifting Schools.
The short version
- This website doesn’t use cookies for visitors, analytics or ads.
- When you buy the kit, Squarespace and Stripe handle checkout. We get your name, email address, billing details and order. We never see your full card number.
- The tools run in your own AI assistant. We never see what you type or paste into them.
- We don’t sell your information.
Browsing this website
This website doesn’t set cookies for visitors, doesn’t use analytics or advertising tools and doesn’t load anything from other companies’ servers. Our web host, Bluehost, keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, to run and protect the site.
Only the people who run the site have logins. When they log in, WordPress sets cookies to keep them logged in.
Links to other websites, such as help pages from Google, Anthropic and OpenAI, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
Buying The After-Hours Kit
Checkout happens on shiftingschools.com, which runs on Squarespace, and Stripe processes the payment. They collect what checkout needs, such as your name, email address, billing address and card details, under their own privacy policies: Squarespace and Stripe.
We receive your name, email address, billing details and what you bought. We use them to send your receipt and download link, answer your questions and keep the records that tax and accounting rules require. We never see your full card number, and we don’t add you to a mailing list.
Using the tools
The tools are written instructions that run inside the AI assistant you choose, such as Gemini, Claude or ChatGPT. What you type or paste goes to that provider, not to us, and the provider’s privacy terms apply. Remove names, account numbers and other private details before you paste anything, and check your provider’s privacy settings.
The social media listening tool may search the web through your assistant. It reads only what you paste and what that search finds.
Who we share information with
Only the services that run the site and the shop: Bluehost (website hosting), Squarespace (shop and checkout) and Stripe (payments). We share information with anyone else only if the law requires it. We don’t sell or rent your information.
How long we keep it
- Order records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Emails you send us: as long as we need them to help you.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email info@shiftingbusiness.ai and we’ll reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some order records for tax reasons even after you ask us to delete them.
Where information is stored
The services above may store your information in the United States or other countries.
Children
This site and the kit are for adults running businesses. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this page
If what we collect changes, for example if we add analytics, we’ll update this page first and change the date at the top.
